BRIDGE — resilience through play and education
An Erasmus+ project bringing young refugees and locals together, training youth workers in empathetic listening and co-designing the “Mixing Culture” board game with young people themselves.
BRIDGE (Building Resilience through Interactive Development of Gaming and Education) helps young refugees and unaccompanied minors integrate into local communities and resist radicalisation. Vela Greece is the lead partner for Greece, responsible for researching the phenomenon in the country and for training field professionals in the empathetic listening methodology.
At the heart of the project is the “Mixing Culture” board game, co-designed with young people themselves so that it strengthens intercultural dialogue with simple means.
On 21 May 2026, World Day for Cultural Diversity, we ran an experiential activity at Malakasa with 20 unaccompanied teenagers aged 15–17: four stations — music, food, non-verbal communication, dance — and one shared message at the end: “Different but united”.
