Vela Greece marks World Day for Cultural Diversity with BRIDGE

To mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development (21 May 2026), Vela Greece ran an experiential intercultural activity at the Malakasa facility as part of the Erasmus+ BRIDGE project, with 20 unaccompanied minors aged 15–17 from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Across four themed stations — music, food, non-verbal communication and dance — participants worked together, shared experiences and surfaced common values: respect, acceptance, connection, solidarity. At the end, the groups created a shared message: “Different but united”.

Interpreters and Child Protection Officers were present throughout, encouraging participation and strengthening the children's sense of safety.
